What is radon gas? Why test for radon gas in my home?
|
Radon gas is a radioactive gas that is released by rock, soil, and water and can build to dangerous levels in the home. Radon gas is odorless. You will not know your home has high levels of radon gas without testing for it. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and has been found in every state in the U.S. Radon levels vary from neighboring home to neighboring home. The typical radon test lasts about two days. Your inspector will leave the testing machine at the inspection site and will return to pick it up once the test is finished. Once the test is finished, your inspector will provide you with a full radon report. Should your home test positive for elevated levels of radon gas, your inspector will recommend contacting a qualified radon mitigator. Elevated radon levels can be reduced easily and cost-effectively. We recommend the addition of radon testing to any home inspection. Simply add it on when you schedule below! |
